Inaugural ANDY AWARDS Announced at the Gathering of the Ghosts

First Convention and Awards for Ghostwriters

American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) and Gotham Ghostwriters co-hosted the first-ever national convention of professional ghostwriters on January 22, 2024 at the New York Academy of Medicine, in Manhattan. The Gathering of the Ghosts was held to highlight and promote the ghostwriting profession and elevate it as a viable career path for writers, bringing them together for a one-day, in-person event with education, awards, and networking.

The convention featured the inaugural "Andy Awards," honoring the spirit of collaboration in non-fiction book writing. The first award for ghostwriters and paid collaborators, the Andy Awards bring collaboration out of the shadows and into a well-deserved spotlight. Both Author and Paid Collaborator had to jointly submit the book for consideration and agreed to share the award.

"Collaboration not only elevates the quality of the work but also brings to life narratives and ideas that may have otherwise remained undiscovered."

Gotham CEO Dan Gerstein added: "The Andy Awards were created to bring collaboration out of the shadows and into a well-deserved spotlight. The winning titles represent the breadth, depth, and quality of collaborative projects in today's publishing marketplace. We look forward to this becoming an annual event."
